AMD has just released the mid tier GPU, Radeon R7 250X. The card arrived in a no-nonsense fashion and is going to retail at the less than $100 Mark. It is meant to target the vacuum between the R7 250 and R7 260 and will also serve as a counter to the GTX 750 Ti and GTX 750 for PR purposes.

It is worth mentioning now that the Radeon R7 250X is based on an older PCB (HD 7770) and will not contain True Audio and XDMA. The card is basically a 1Ghz version of the HD 7770. Though it is codenamed "Cape Verde" it actually contains the Cape Verde XT Core (some sites mistakenly call the silicon Cape Verde, which is not very accurate because the same codename is also used in Mobile GPUs). Anandtech has also released some benchmarks which show the R7 250X comfortably beating the GTX 650 while lagging behind the GTX 650 Ti Boost. Performance wise approximately the same as the Maxwell GTX 750 Ti and GTX 750, more or less. However, unlike the GTX 750 Non-Ti which only needs a PCI-E connection as its power source, the Radeon R7 250X needs One GPU Connector. Finally the benchmarks by AnandTech:
