The second surprising bit for today is from Videocardz (Via TweakTown) who are able to confirm that the R9 Fury (Non-X) will feature the Fiji Pro GPU with 3584 stream processors. This might not sound much surprising to our readers since we have been showing the specifications since some time now for this card and other sites are now able to confirm this too.

AMD Radeon R9 Fury (Non-X) - A Little Less Furious With 3584 Stream Processors and Factory Customized Options
The AMD Fiji GPU is based on a 28nm process and is the single largest chip AMD has ever produced. The chip which measures around 596mm2 has a total of 8.9 Billion transistors crammed under its hood which means a whole lot of performance and the card really does deliver a amazing amount of improvement in performance and efficiency over previous generation GPUs. Compared to Hawaii with its 6.3 billion transistors and 5.6 TFlops of performance, the Fiji Pro GPUwill deliver7.5TFlops of computeperformance from the depths of its heart.
The Radeon R9 Fury will fall below the R9 Fury X which still makes it apowerful card, it is based on the 28nm process which has gotten old but is now matured enough to be used to designed the ultimate GPUs (GM200 / Fiji XT). The Radeon R9 Fury comes with 56compute units which pack 64streamprocessors each, total of these amount to 3584stream processors, 64 Raster operation units and 224texture mapping units. The engine clock for the Radeon R9 Fury is maintained at 1050 MHz which is the same clock speed as the Fury X. The GPUchurns out a total of 7.5TFlops of compute performance as mentioned above which is around the same league as the GeForce GTX Titan X.
The card also features 4 GB of HBM VRAM that is clocked at a 500 MHz (1.0 Gbps data rate). The memory runs across a 4096-bit bus interface has has a bandwidth of up to 512 GB/s. The card can stick to the same power configuration of dual 8-Pin connectors and has a board power of 275W. Display outputs include three display connectors and a single HDMI port. The card will havesupport for next generation APIs such as DirectX 12 and supports Freesync, VSR and Frame Rate Target Control.
According to our industry insiders, the Radeon R9 Fury will feature 3584 Stream Processors, down from the 4096 on the full Fury X. The Fiji-based GPU will be clocked at 1050MHz, which is identical to that of the Fury X. We have 4GB of High Bandwidth Memory that provides the same 512GB/sec of bandwidth, clocked at 500MHz (1GHz effective). We are being told to expect temperatures of the Fiji PRO-based R9 Fury to be less than 75C, which is considerably higher than the 50C or so from the watercooled Fury X. via TweakTown
AMD Radeon R9 Fury Gets Custom Variants - Radeon R9 Fury X Not That Lucky
With a significantly cut down version of the Fiji core, AMD will have a choice to either stick with the more expensive water cooler or go with a air cooler that houses a triple fan design. This will allow for a much more bigger card than the Radeon R9 Fury X but the difference would be through the custom variants that are going to be offered by AMD's AIB partners. This is something which we wanted to see on the Radeon R9 Fury X since launch but it seems like the only customization options AMD fans will be getting for the Fury X will be the ability to 3D Print their own front plate covers for the card itself. It should be noted that some water blocks are available for the card but no custom PCB solutions are available. The Radeon R9 Fury (Non-X) will be getting the full non-reference treatment which will be available in pricing north of $549 US (reference price).
AMD will try to put this card in competition against the GeForce GTX 980 which currently retails at $499 US. The Radeon R9 Fury will be slower than the Fury X with two disabled engines but still feature higher gaming performance than the Radeon R9 390X which will mean that users will get better performance than the GTX 980 for $50 US more. Only time will tell whether the card will be a success and NVIDIA will be pushed to release a higher clocked or a GTX 980 with twice the VRAM.
