AMD's Ryzen 71800X CPU hasonly been out for a few days and overclockers havealready pushed it to break several world records. German overclockerDer8auer has already broken the Ryzen 8-core frequency worldrecord with his 1800X. Using liquid nitrogen he has successfully managed to push the CPU to 5.8GHz on an insane voltage of 1.97v, officially making him the frequency world record holder on HWBot.com.

This record was achieved with an Asus Crosshair VI Hero motherboard and 16GB of 2400MHz DDR4 CL11 memory.

AMD Ryzen 7 1800X At 5.36GHz Breaks Cinebench R15 World Record, Again

Swedish overclocker Elmorclaimed another world record. Using liquid nitrogen cooling, he overclocked his Ryzen 7 1800X to 5.36GHz on all 8 cores and successfully completed a record-breaking run of Cinebench R15's multi-threaded CPU test. Scoring2454 points, 9 points ahead of the previous world record achieved with an i7 5960X overclocked to 6GHz.

Perhaps the most impressive fact here is thatdespite a 600MHz+ clock speed deficit the 1800X was still able to outperform the i7 5960X. This is before we even talk about the significant memory bandwidth advantage of the i7 5960X, which supports quad-channel DDDR4 memory compared to Ryzen's dual channel.

Motherboard makers are still scrambling to update their BIOS profiles to iron out all the memory compatibility and performance bugs. It will be very interesting to see how far overclockers are able to push Ryzen CPUs in the near future once the motherboard ecosystem enters maturity.
