AMD's Ryzen 7 7700X CPU has shown strong gaming performance against Intel's Core i7-13700K & i5-13600K Raptor Lake CPUs in leaked benchmarks.
Intel's Raptor Lake Core i7-13700K & Core i5-13600K CPUs Disappoint In Leaked Gaming Benchmarks, Lose To AMD's Ryzen 7 7700X
The latest benchmarks of Intel's Raptor Lake Core i7-13700K and Core i5-13600K CPUs come from Bilibili's content creator, Extreme Player. The leaker has already shown us benchmarks of the retail Raptor Lake CPUs including the Core i9-13900K, Core i7-13700K, and Core i5-13600K. For these latest benchmarks, Extreme Player put the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X to the test against Intel's current 12th Gen and upcoming 13th Gen CPUs.
The test platform comprised a Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX motherboard for the AMD platform and ASRock Z690 Steel Legend WiFi 6E/D5 motherboard for the Intel platform. Both motherboards support DDR5 memory and a pair of 16 GB DDR5-6400 CL40 memory from TeamGroup was used in the tests. The graphics card of choice was the MSI GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Gaming X Trio. During the testing, all CPUs were tested with DDR5-5200 profiles but the 7700X was additionally tested using a DDR5-6400 profile.
AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 8 Core "Zen 4" Desktop CPU
The AMD Ryzen 7 7700X isan 8-core and 16-thread part. AMD positions this as the sweet spot for gamers and as such, the CPU will feature a base clock of 4.5 GHz and a boost clock of 5.4 GHz but at a lower 105W TDP (142W PPT). The CPU will get a 40 MB cache pool which consists of 32 MB L3 from the singular CCD &8 MB L2 from the Zen 4 cores.
Now one interesting thing to mention is that there is so far no update by AMD on a Ryzen 7 7800X chip. It is likely that AMD wants to replace that part with a successor to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D with Zen 4 cores (3D V-Cache). If that was the case, we can expect an update later this year to the CPU lineup since the V-Cache parts have been confirmed for a late Q4 2022 launch by AMD themselves. The Ryzen 7 7700X is priced at $399 US and competes against the Core i7-12700K and the Core i7-13700K.
