AMD Zen 4-Powered Ryzen Threadripper Pro 7995WX & 7975WX CPUs Leak Out With Up To 96 Cores

The AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 7975WX CPU featuring 32 cores was already spotted within the same database a few weeks ago but now we have a few more benchmark submissions plus an entry of the flagship Ryzen Threadripper Pro 7995WX. Both of these chips will be compatible with the upcoming Storm Peak platform which is expected to come in two-socket variations (SP6 & SP5) and support a mix of 8-channel and 4-channel motherboards.

So coming to the specifications, the flagship AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 7995WX features 96 Zen 4 cores, and 192 threads and comes in a total of 12 CCDs, each with 32 MB of L3 cache for a total of 384 MB of L3 cache. This confirms that this chip is based on the Genoa SP5 die and will adopt the top 8-channel and SP5 socket platform. The chip also features 96 MB of L2 cache and the top clock speed was reported at 5.14 GHz.

Moving on to the AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 7975WX CPU, we are looking at a 32-core chip that comes with 64 threads, 128 MB of L3 cache, and 32 MB of L2 cache. The CPU is expected to feature a TDP of 350W and the clock speeds are reported at a peak of 4.0 GHz though we doubt that these would be the final clocks unless it is an all-core boost which makes a little more sense.

Once again, both chips were tested in the SiSoftware Sandra benchmark suite within the Dell Precision 7875 Tower workstation with benchmarks shown below:

As you can see in the benchmarks above, the flagship AMD Threadripper 7995WX 96-Core CPU crushes its predecessors with an insane 67% increase in performance. This also includes a 50% improvement in the core/thread count but you should remember that this is still an early figure which would only rise once the final retail samples hit shelves.

As for the 7975WX, this 32-core processor sits almost close to its 64-core predecessor, the 5995WX and sometimes even excels over it while blazing past the previous 32-core offering. This shows really strong performance coming to HEDT and Workstation users later this fall which should get these audiences excited.
