AMD has just announced their next-generation 7nm based, Ryzen 3000 series CPUs with up to 12 cores and 24 threads at Computex 2019. The new processors are aimed at the X570 platform that also makes its debut today with motherboard makers expected to unveil their respective product lineups at Computex 2019.

AMD Ryzen 3000 CPUs Announced - 7nm, Ryzen 9 Series With Up To 12 Cores, 24 Threads, 4.6 GHz Boost Clocks, 7th July Official Launch Date

During the official AMD Computex keynote, CEO, Dr.Lisa Su, announced their next-generation Ryzen 3000 processors which are based on the new Zen 2 core architecture and compatible on existing & upcoming AM4 motherboards. AMD showcased various specifications & performance numbers for their Ryzen lineup which now extends all the way up to Ryzen 9 which is the higher core count (2 Zen 2 die) parts aimed at enthusiast tier systems.

AMD Ryzen 9 3000 Series Processors - 12 Core Ryzen 9 3900X For $499 US

Starting off with the top of the line parts, AMD is announcing the Ryzen 9 series which is made up of the Ryzen 9 3900X. The Ryzen 9 3900X is the flagship 12 core part which is aimed at users demanding heavy multi-threading performance on AM4 sockets. The chip has a total cache of 70 MB and a TDP of 105W. The chip features a base clock of 3.8 GHz base and 4.6 GHz boost which when put together is just stunning for a 12 core part that will hit retail shelves on 7th July for $499 US.

AMD Ryzen 7 3000 Series Processors - 8 Core/16 Thread Ryzen 7 3800X For $399 and Ryzen 7 3700X For $329 US

During their Computex demo, AMD benchmarked the 8 core, 16 thread Ryzen 7 3700X against the Intel Core i7-9700K, an 8 core and 8 thread processor. The processor is said to feature a TDP of just 65W and has clock speeds of 3.6 GHz base and 4.4 GHz boost which is an exceptional improvement over the Ryzen 7 parts which boosted up to 4.35 GHz.

Not only was the Ryzen 7 3700X (4806 CB points) able to beat the Core i7 (3726 CB points) part which boosts up to 4.9 GHz but also consumed much lower power than its competitor. The Ryzen 7 3700X features a 65W TDP which is a plus over the 95W+ TDP. The Ryzen 7 3700X will be hitting retail for a price of $329 US making it the fastest 8 core chip at this price point.

The other part is the Ryzen 9 3800X which features 8 cores and 16 threads with much higher clock speeds than the existing flagship, the Ryzen 7 2700X. The chip features a base clock of 3.9 GHz and a boost clock of 4.5 GHz. The chip has a total cache of 36 MB and features a TDP of 105W. AMD's Ryzen 7 3800X will hit retail for $399 US.

AMD Ryzen 5 3000 Series Processors - 7nm Based 6 Cores/12 Threads Now Starting at $199 US

AMD has also announced their Ryzen 5 3000 series processors which would also be launching on 7th July. The processors include the Ryzen 5 3600X and Ryzen 5 3600. The Ryzen 5 3600X is clocked at 3.8 GHz base and 4.4 GHz boost with a TDP of 95W and has 35 MB of cache onboard. The Ryzen 5 3600, on the other hand, has a 3.6 GHz base clock and a 4.2 GHz boost clock with a TDP of 65W & the same number of the cache. The Ryzen 5 3600X will retail for $249 US while the Ryzen 5 3600 will retail for $199 US.
