Jailbreaking has gained a lot of popularity after being rendered lawful by a high court in US. However, Apple is not happy with the decision and continues to defy all jailbreak exploits discovered by hackers with software updates but still the hackers are the ones who have the upper hand and have done it once again. The untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 is finally out on iOS 5 or iOS 5.0.1 with a one click solution called Absinthe.

It took hackers a long time to come up and finally release the untethered jailbreak solution for the frustrated iPad 2 and iPhone 4S users. Absinthe is compatible with the following devices and firmwares:

iPhone 4S on iOS 5.0/5.0.1iPad 2 WiFi/CDMA/GSM on iOS 5.0.1

Absinthe is a one click untethered jailbreak solution for the aforementioned devices on their compatible firmware. It is currently available for Mac only but a Windows tool will come shortly. In order to jailbreak your device follow these simple steps:

NOTE: iPhone 4S users who are relying on a software unlock should stick to iOS 5.0 and do not update to iOS 5.0.1 as a software unlock for iOS 5.0 is coming soon.

Before beginning, make sure that your device is fully charged as this jailbreak takes longer than previous jailbreaks.

STEP 1: Download Absinthe for:

STEP 2: Plugin your device and backup via iTunes

STEP 3: Open the downloaded application and click jailbreak. Wait for the process to complete.

STEP 4: Unlock your device and tap the Absinthe icon and wait for Cydia to install.

NOTE: In case you get an error while connecting to the Cydia sever while installing it go to Settings and turn on VPN. Your device will reboot. Proceed with the installation then.
