Apple Stops Signing iOS 13.1, Downgrade No Longer Possible-November 2024
Nov 6, 2025 10:47 AM

Apple had seen fit to release iOS 13.1.2 last week and today, the company stops signing iOS 13.1. What this means is that you can longer downgrade to the build. Apple wants iOS users to stick to the latest version and the only build Apple is signing right now is iOS 13.1.2, which is the latest public release. Let's dive in to see some more details on the subject.

Apple Has Stopped Signing iOS 13.1, Making It Impossible to Downgrade to Older Builds

If you're running an older version of iOS, updating to the latest build would mean that you're stuck with it. Since Apple is not signing iOS 13.1 anymore, you can not downgrade to any older versions of iOS 13. However, Apple is still signing iOS 12.4.2 so if you're not happy with the latest release, you have the option available to go back to the previous version which is bound to be more stable.

The latest build is now comparatively more stable so it makes sense for Apple to stop signing the previous build. Apple's iOS 13 release was crawling with bugs that were responsible for poor user experience. For me, the Messages app was being stuck and I had to close the app and open it again. Other than this, there were occasional stutters while scrolling feed and other tiny bits.

In addition, iOS 13 also brought a number of connectivity issues as well. If you're having difficulty with it, here's how to fix Bluetooth issues in iOS 13 and iPadOS 13. However, since there is no jailbreaking solution available for iOS 13 yet, there's no solid reason to go back to the previous build. If you're someone looking to upgrade to the latest build, we would recommend that you do so.

There will be more to the story, so be sure to stay tuned in for more. This is all for now, folks. Have you updated to the latest build? Share your views with us in the comments.
