Apple Will Potentially Launch The 15.5-Inch MacBook Air In April With The Same Design As The 13.3-Inch Model-July 2024
Jul 14, 2025 7:49 AM

Apple launched the redesigned MacBook Air with an M2 chip last year with a boatload of new changes. While the design of the machine is similar to the "Pro" models, the screen size was also increased from 13.3 to 13.6 inches. It was previously reported that Apple was working to introduce a bigger version of the MacBook Air with upgraded internals. According to a prominent analyst, Apple will launch the 15.5-inch MacBook Air in April.

15.5-Inch MacBook Air to launch in April as display production underway

The news is shared by prominent display analyst Ross Young in a super tweet, suggesting that Apple will potentially launch the new 15.5-inch MacBook Air model in "early April". Young also states that the display production is underway and that potential announcements and pre-orders will begin soon. If the news has any heft to it, Apple will announce the new 15.5-inch MacBook with upgraded internals at its Spring event.

As for what you should expect, the larger 15.5-inch MacBook Air will feature the same design as the 13.3-inch version. Take note that the company is not replacing the currently available 13.3-inch version but adding a new model to the lineup. The M2 MacBook Air is available for $1,199, and the 15-inch model will potentially cost more. As for internals, we are not sure if the machine will come with TSMC's 3nm M3 chip. However, it was reported earlier this year that Apple's 15-inch MacBook Air could come with an M2 Pro chip due to better thermal management.

15.5-inch MacBook Air Launch and Design

Do take the news with a pinch of salt, as Apple is also rumored to launch M3 MacBook Air later this year. The company could introduce the new chip on both models together later this year while only introducing the 15-inch model at its Spring event with an M2 chip. Since details are conflicting at this point, the final word rests with Apple.

Other than this, the 15.5-inch model will feature a unibody design with an all-screen display and a notch on the top housing a webcam. We will keep you guys updated on the latest, so be sure to stick around. Share your views with us in the comments.
