ASRock has announced the release its flagship motherboard "Extreme7 Gen3" Based on Intel's Z68 chip which allows support of Sandy Bridge and also Intel's Upcoming 22nm Ivy Bridge Processors. The Gen3 Tag suggests that this is the first boardavailableto feature PCI-E 3.0 Functionality.
Equipped with a 8+4 Digi Power Advanced VRM Phase and featuring High Quality Components such as Goldhigh-quality Conductive Polymer Capacitors and some very bulky cooling heatsinks included on the Northbridge and a Smaller one on the Southbridge linkedtogetherwith HeatPipe to transfer the thermal load, This board would be a real treat for overclockers. The Four DDR3 DIMM Slots allow for Dual Channel Memory Configurations with speeds of 2133+Mhz.
ASRock also included a NF200 Chip on the board which provides multiple x16 PCI-e lanes to GPU's running in SLI/CrossfireX mode. The board includes a total of1x PCIe 3.0 x16 Slot, 4 PCIe 2.0 x16 Slots and a Single PCI Slot. The storage connectivity includes a total of 10 Sata 3 Connectors, Also there are Power On/Off, Clear CMOS buttons integrated on the board.
The I/O PanelconsistsofMulti VGA Output : D-Sub, DVI-D, HDMI,7.1 CH HD Audio with Content Protection (Realtek ALC892 Audio Codec), Supports THX TruStudio™,Dual LAN with Teaming function, 6 USB 3.0 ports, Sata-E and Firewire.
The board will be priced at 240Euros when it hits the markets.
