AsRock Shows off its X79 Motherboard lineup for Sandy Bridge-E LGA 2011 Platform-August 2024

Taiwan based motherboardmanufacturerAsRock has revealed its upcoming X79 based Motherboard lineup which would support Intel's Upcoming Sandy Bridge-E Processors. The lineup consists of four motherboard, The Flagship AsRock X79 Extreme9, X79 Extreme7, Extreme 4 and the Micro ATX AsRock Extreme 4-M Pro.

The X79 Extreme9 would feature the LGA-2011 Socket which would drive the new Sandy Bridge-E Processors. Eight DDR3 Memory slots will be linked with the CPU which would operate in Quad Channel interface supporting rams with frequencies upto 2400Mhz+. CPU will beprovidedpower through two 8 Pin Connectors, High Grade Power Components and Gold C-Caps are included to provide better stability while overclocking.

Five PCI-e x16 3.0 slots along with a PCI-e x1 3.0 slot are included on the board, PCI-e x16 slots allow for SLi and CrossfireX Multi-GPU configurations. Eight USB 3.0 ports are included while storage allows for 4 SATA 6Gbps and 6 SATA 3Gbps ports. AsRock has been kind enough to bundle an"Game Blaster" addon card which provideshigh-grade Sound Core 7.1 channel audio, and a gaming-grade network controller. I/O includesOnboard Gigabit Ethernet(Extreme7 dual NIC),Debug LED lights, power and reset buttons.

The Extreme 7 has already been detailed here, X79 Extreme 4 on the other hand features 4 DDR3 slots, A Single 8 Pin Power Connector, 3 PCI-e x16 3.0 (Sli / CrossfireX) 3 PCI and 2 PCI-e x1 3.0 slots. Storage includes 4 SATA 6 and 4 SATA 3 ports while I/O includes 7.1 Channel Audio, Gigabit Ethernet Lan Port, E-SATA, Firewire, 4 x USB 3.0, 4 x USB 2.0, Clear CMOS, SPDIF and PS/2 Connectors.

Last comes the Micro-ATX "X79 Extreme 4-M Pro" which will be the cheapest in AsRock's Motherboard lineup. Features 4 DDR3 Dimm slots, 3 PCI-e x16 3.0 and a Single PCI slot. Storage includes 3 SATA 6 and 4 SATA 3 Gbps ports. All motherboards have a fan located at the PCH heatsink, Prices are yet unknown.
