When we detailed the announcement of ASUS Transformer 3 and ASUS Transformer 3 Pro, we stated that they will be powered by Intel’s Kaby Lake family but unfortunately, lack of hardware details prevented us from providing you guys with the necessary information concerning the kind of chips present inside. Now, we have accurate information of the processors powering up the latest 2-in-1 from ASUS.
ASUS Transformer 3 And Pro Models Feature Intel Core M Models From Kaby Lake Series And Skylake Processors Respectively – Here Are All The Details
ASUS announced three 2-in-1 hybrids today at Computex 2016:
ASUS Transformer 3 Pro (which features the highest performing hardware out of the three)ASUS Transformer 3 (which sits somewhere in the middle)ASUS Transformer 3 Mini (this slate features the lowest hardware out of the three, but is still worthy enough to be purchased if you’re on a very tight budget)
According to BenchLife, Transformer 3 Pro will feature Intel’s Skylake processors family and will be divided into Intel’s Core i3, i5 and i7 chips, while the ASUS Transformer 3 will feature the latest Kaby Lake series of processors. Given below is the list of Core M Kaby Lake series of processors that are going to be present inside Transformer 3.
Core m3-7Y30: Intel HD Graphics 615Core m5-7Y54: Intel HD Graphics 615Core m7-7Y75: Intel vPro enabled with Intel HD Graphics 615
These ultra-low TDP chips don’t exceed the 4.5W range which will likely be true for the Kaby Lake series. On the specifications side, the Core m7-7Y75 is a dual core design with multi-threading enabled. Despite the fact that Transformer 3 Pro will be housing a Skylake processor, it still features more connectivity ports than the regular Transformer 3, transforming the machine into a better performing hybrid, if that is the kind of machine that you’re looking for. Those port details have been listed below:
USB 3.1 Type-C (Gen 2) with Thunderbolt 3HDMIUSB 3.0 Type-AMicroSD card slot3.5mm jack
Compared to Transformer 3 Pro, Transformer 3 features the following connectivity ports:
USB 3.1 Type-C (Gen 2) with Thunderbolt 33.5mm jackHDMIUSB 3.0 Type-A
