The price of the 2024 OLED iPad Pro could increase significantly as suppliers adopt new manufacturing operations for the display

Apart from an OLED panel, the iPad Pro would be equipped with a bigger display. According to The Elec, the new display and its associated production methods would make the upcoming tablet significantly more expensive. As the material cost increases, Apple would simply make the iPad more pricey, keeping its profit margins unscathed.

The company is working to secure LG and Samsung as its main suppliers for the 11.1 and 13-inch displays for the OLED iPad Pro models. The price negotiations for the OLED panels are underway between the Cupertino giant and its display suppliers. Apple's devised specs for the display will require the suppliers to adopt new manufacturing methods that have not been previously used for the said display sizes.

It was previously reported that the company will use a dual-stack configuration for the OLED displays on future iPad Pro models. The dual-emission OLED panels will improve color accuracy, offer higher display brightness levels, and will be overall more efficient compared to the one-stack OLED tandems. Other manufacturing operations include the use of LTPO and TFT components to make the panel less power-hungry. Finally, the iPad Pro's display will also require a new operation for encompassing the hybrid OLED composition.

The report mentions that the current price for OLED panels for a comparable 10-inch OLED display is between $100 to $150. With Apple's specifications onboard, the 11.1-inch display could be as much as $270, and $350 for the 13-inch model. Apple's OLED iPad Pro models are slated to hit the shelves next year with a plethora of upgrades.
