The Vine Camera app for both iOS and Android is now available to download. It's free, and replaces the Vine app.

Vine is Dead - Say Hello to Vine Camera for iOS & Android

Today's the day Vine officially bites the dust and is no longer accessible to anyone. Twitter did promise this day would come, and it has. But along with its statement, it also revealed that it would replace the Vine app with a new Vine Camera app for iOS and Android.

Interestingly, the Vine Camera app is like Vine, but without the social networking part. It lets you create 6-second long looping videos on the fly, which you can later share to any social network of your choice, even Twitter, obviously.

Here's the complete description of the newfound app:

The Vine Camera is for making 6 second looping videos.

You can post the videos directly to Twitter or save them to your phone. Videos that are posted From the Vine Camera to Twitter will loop.

Vine was a great little place to catch up on interesting little looping videos. But sadly, it seems as though the social network wasn't able to catch up with the like of Instagram, forcing it to go into the abyss for good. But if you are a fan of creating looping videos, then downloading Vine Camera seems to be the logical thing to do right now as that is the closest thing you'll get which has 'Vine' in its name.
