iOS 7 stolen jailbreak - true or not?

Stefan Esser, a security researcher (who is notorious for trolling the jailbreak community) popularly known asi0n1calleged on December 13th that someone close to the evad3rs stole a jailbreak exploit and sold it to a private buyer. Esser tweeted:

For some background, i0n1c is the hacker behind theuntetheredjailbreak for iOS 4.3.2, also responsible for thejailbreakofthe iPad 3 on iOS 5.1.While Esser did not say if this stolen jailbreak had to do with iOS 7, it was one serious allegation which could potentially affect evad3rs development speed, if true.

After this episode,iDesignTimes quickly spoke toCyril Cattiaux also known as pod2g. Cattiaux dismissed Esser's claims saying "That'scomplete bullshit.”

In response, i0n1c tweeted again,

"Hehe some desperate JBers accuse me of trolling because they fear that the stolen and sold jailbreak exploits mean no iOS 7 jailbreak."

"LOL so a jailbreak news site asked the @evad3rs if someone stole their JB and they say no. How would they know if someone copied it?"

"The only way the @evad3rs could be sure that no one stole their JB exploits is if they have nothing at all to steal." - Esser.

i0n1c kept emphasizing that someonearoundthe team was responsible for stolen jailbreak and not any member of the evad3rs.

"I said someone around the @evad3rs stole it. I never said it was a member."

If the stolen jailbreak speculation is indeed true, then it could be sold to Apple ultimately which might then close the vulnerabilities for the future. This will drag the jailbreak process even more.pod2galso said that "the jailbreak stuff is moving on, but slowly.”

Speculations hope to see the iOS 7 jailbreak as early as Feb, 2014.
