Gigabyte is readying to launch several revamped Z970 "X" motherboards for Intel's upcoming 14th Gen Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs, according to a recent ECC listing.
ECC Listing Reveals Several Gigabyte Motherboards Getting Upgraded, New Variants Expected to Launch Too
Gigabyte had previously released a BIOS update for 600 and 700-series motherboards which offered support for Intel's next-gen desktop CPUs headed to the LGA 1700/1800 socket. The newest listing has revealed that several models of Z790 motherboards will get the "X' flavors, offering upgraded VRMs, IO, and more.

The first two models of the Gigabyte Z790 "X" series were seen at Computex 2023, as detailed in our exclusive coverage. The new Z790 AORUS XTREME X & Master X will feature several upgrades, including a new LCD display and upgraded cooling & heatsink solutions.

Moreover, the motherboard will also include a unique latching mechanism for the M.2 heatsink block and the M.2 Gen5 heatsink. In terms of specifications, a significant upgrade is the addition of support for Wi-Fi 7 and 10 GbE LAN hence elevating the new models to a much higher standard. Gigabyte is also anticipated to release new B760M variants. However, details regarding the changes in these models aren't specific. An interesting fact is the listing of a "YT PIONEER" variant which can be specific to content creators and YouTube enthusiasts. What features these motherboard series will include for YT enthusiasts remains to be seen.

Apart from Intel, AMD motherboards will also get upgraded versions with the X670 and B650 chipsets which include:

Launch date and pricing for the mentioned motherboards are yet to be revealed, but the ECC listing suggests that Gigabyte will launch the new variants soon enough.
