GoodNotes Is Finally Available On Android But Only On Samsung Tablets
GoodNotes Is Finally Available On Android But Only On Samsung Tablets-February 2024
Feb 11, 2026 11:50 PM

Over the past couple of years, note-taking on your device has become much more prominent. Companies like Samsung constantly ensure that users have a way of taking notes, and we have S Pen variants for that and specialized devices. However, the number of note-taking apps isn't as common on Android as they are on iOS. Well, that is changing today as GoodNotes, considered one of the finest apps for taking notes, is finally launching on Android, but with a catch.

GoodNotes for Android is finally available but currently works as a Progressive Web App and has very limited availability

The company announced the GoodNotes beta on Android. However, at the time of writing, it is only available to limited devices, but the biggest caveat here is that you will need a Samsung tablet with a display larger than 8 inches, and the device must have at least 3 gigs of RAM. This might seem like a really limiting requirement, but considering the nature of the app, it does make sense.

Thankfully, the app has mentioned in its official announcement post that there are going to be more tablets added to the list. We are hoping that the Samsung exclusivity is only timed and GoodNotes actually comes on other Android tablets as well.

Sadly, a Reddit user has reported that GoodNotes on Android is currently a Progressive Web App or PWA and even requires a constant internet connection. This could change in the future, but we are unsure about that.

Whatever the case might be, users who are interested in using GoodNotes on their device should be pleased to know that you are getting full stylus support, lots of templates, dark mode, and a lot more. The app is free to use during the beta testing phase but will introduce paid tier once it finally comes out from the beta stage.

Considering how it is in a beta stage and is currently a PWA, GoodNotes users on Android cannot sync their notes cross-platform. There are some other limitations, such as the only 20 notebooks in the free version. If you are looking to sign up, it is worth noting that the app only has 10,000 seats available. You can do so by going over here, provided you have a supported Android tablet.

Are you going to get your hands on GoodNotes for your Galaxy Tablet? Let us know what your thoughts are about the app finally making its way to Android, albeit in a limited capacity
