May 10, 2025 4:13 PM

Not a day passes that we don't see new information surface about Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S7 launch. The Korean manufacturer managed to regain industry and market interest this year with the launch of the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge in March. Not only did both the devices come with the Exynos 7420 that is undoubtedly one of the best performing SoCs in the market right now, but they also came with sleek designs that captured the attention of many. By the looks of things so far, Samsung's looking to further build on its successes with the Galaxy S6/S6 this year, with some information about the pair's successor having surfaced today.

Mysterious Samsung Device Scores Nearly 96,000 Points In AnTuTu; Galaxy S7 Maybe?

Firmware Development For Galaxy S7 And Galaxy S7 Edge Suggests Early Launch

Given the amount of leaks that have taken place so far surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S7, we have a fair idea of what to expect from the device so far. But while specification related leaks and rumors have been abundant, there has been relatively little information about its launch details so far, with only a handful of information surfacing so far.

We've heard previously that Samsung might be looking for an early Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge launch next year, and today some more information has surfaced which lends credibility to this fact. Folks over at Sammobile, known for their highly credible sources when it comes to the South Korean electronics giant claim that Samsung has already started to develop firmware for both the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge.

Mysterious Samsung Device Scores Nearly 96,000 Points In AnTuTu; Galaxy S7 Maybe?

This provides us with several interesting bits of information. Firstly, its a rare mention of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, a device that has seen limited mentions when compared to its regular Galaxy S7 counterpart. Secondly, if true, then this would be exactly a month earlier than Samsung's firmware development schedule for the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge, so the company should have things all tidied up rather early when it comes to its next flagship smartphone launches.

The firmware names for the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge are G930FXXU0AOK6 andG935FXXU0AOK6, which coupled with Sammobile's good credibility in the leaks-sphere could really mean that we're going to see both the Galaxy S7 devices in three months. Current information suggests that Samsung will be increasing the screen size on the devices, coupled with a brand new Exynos 8890 ticking under the hood. Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 is also expected to be made available in US and Chinese markets, so rest assured, the Galaxy S7 will be a power packed device indeed.
