Despite looking a lot like the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s, the iPhone 7 is brand new inside out. One of the things that got an upgrade this year was the Taptic Engine as well, which feels much more natural compared to how it was previously. And since the Taptic Engine is brand new, Apple thought it would be a great idea to play around with it and add a few tricks exclusive to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The result? Haptic feedback in subtle corners of the OS.These haptics can be feltwhen you refresh a page, toggle something on or off, pull down the Notification Center, bring up the Control Center etc. It's a nice little implementation although Apple is pretty late to the party.

Now, while these haptics are good and all when it comes to confirming that an action has been initiated, they can get annoying at times. So what do you do when haptic feedback gets in your way? Well, you turn it off.We will show you how.

1. Unlock your iPhone and launch the Settings app.

2. Scroll down a little and you'll see an entry labelled 'Sounds & Haptics.' Tap on it to open.

3. Now scroll all the way down and turn off the 'System Haptics' option.

From here on in your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus won't trigger any haptic feedback no matter what you do. Everything will feel much more mundane from now on, if that's your thing while using a smartphone.

Quite frankly, I find the newly added System Haptics features really useful. It feels satisfying to know that an action has taken place. And what better way to know about it than a minuscule little vibration that almost feels like magic, right?
