Betas are very tough to handle in their early days. You come across all sorts of bad things, such as crashes, slow-downs, broken features and promises, etc. So, it is a good idea to dial things back a little and enjoy the publicly available version of the software until the new beta is ironed out and the bugs are slightly more tolerable. We are, of course, talking about how to downgrade iOS 14 / iPadOS 14 beta to iOS 13 here, and it's an easy process to follow, too.

Before you begin please, make sure that you have backed up everything safely and securely to either iTunes or Finder. If you want to take the iCloud route, that is available to you. As long as your data is secure, only then go ahead with the tutorial below.

Tutorial

Step 1. Download and save the latest iOS 13 / iPadOS firmware file to your desktop. Make sure it is the correct one otherwise you will have to start all over again.

Step 2. Connect your iPhone or iPad to your PC or Mac using a Lightning or USB-C cable. USB-C for the iPad Pro and regular Lightning for everything else.

Step 3. Launch Finder or iTunes. You'll notice that your device is being listed here as a tiny little iPhone-like icon on the left hand side. Click on it to reveal more details.

Step 4. Click on the Restore iPhone button while holding the left Shift key (Windows) or the left Option key (Mac).

Step 5. Select the iOS 13 / iPadOS IPSW you downloaded and saved in step 1.

Step 6. iTunes / Finder will now start to extract the contents of the firmware. Once complete, it will be restored onto your device. This may take a while so make sure you do not tinker around with your computer while this is all happening.

Once everything is complete, you will find yourself on the iOS Hello screen. Set the device up like you would and restore from the recently created backup if you wish to take that route.

It is best to stay away from the newly released beta as long as it is in its infancy. Once the public beta is out, usually that is the time the software gains quite a bit of stability.
