Feb 12, 2026 7:43 PM

Now that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is finally available and while people are still waiting to get their hands on Samsung's latest clamshell foldable, I am more interested in all the features that people overlooked, including the Flex Window. That is what Samsung is calling the external/cover screen, and honestly, it makes a lot of sense. Do you know you can open any app on Galaxy Z Flip 5's Flex Window? Yes, by default, you might not know this, but there is a way to do just that, and I am going to teach you how to do it.

The good news is that by default, the ability to open apps on Galaxy Z Flip 5's Flex Window is possible. However, you cannot run all the apps on the Flex Window, but there is a workaround to that as well, and don't worry, you are not going to be rooting your device. All you need is Good Lock and the MultiStar module, and you are good to go.

Install Good Lock and Open Any App on Galaxy Z Flip 5's Flex Window

Now, if you want to open any app on Galaxy Z Flip 5's Flex Window, the process is not that difficult, but we are still going to look at how you can do that. If you are tech-savvy and already have Good Lock installed, all you need is MultiStar, and you are all sorted. However, if that is something that you haven't done before, then this guide is for you. So, let's have a look at how to make this happen.

Step 1:Download and InstallGood Lockon your Galaxy Z Flip 5 from Galaxy Store, or just follow this tutorial for sideloading:

Step 2:Once you have the Good Lockapp installed, tap the Life Uptab and installMultiStar.

Step 3:OpenMultiStarand then tap on theI *Heart Galaxy* Foldable button.

Step 4:Tap theLauncher Widgetbutton and start adding the apps you want to the Launcher Widget.

Once you are done, you are good to go, and now you will be able to open any app on Galaxy Z Flip 5's cover screen, and you will not run into any issues. Honestly, the Flex Window feature is definitely something that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 needed. It would make the overall experience of using the device so much better because not everyone wants to unfold their phone and use it, as some people prefer having access to the outer display so they can perform basic tasks such as skipping songs or texting someone.
