Sharing location using your phone has become a common aspect for a lot of people. Whether you are taking a cab ride home by yourself or just trying to make sure that your friends and family know where you are, it is a quintessential feature that we all have relied on at some point in life. WhatsApp has an excellent feature that lets you share your live location, but what if I tell you that a similar feature is already baked inside Google Maps? Yes, you can share location on Android using Google Maps, and in this post, we will look at how you can do just that.

Now, several people that I have talked to about this don't really know that Google Maps allows you to share your actual location that can be tracked with your friends and families. Sure, there are other apps that can do that, too. Life360 is one of the best apps, but if you are getting something that is baked right into Android, why not use it, right?

Here is how to share location on Android using Google Maps

So, if you want to share your location on Android using Google Maps, the process is simple and highly customizable. We are going to look at just that, and you will be done in no time.

Step 1:On your phone, openGoogle Maps.

Step 2:Once you are in the app, tap yourProfile Picturein the top right corner.

Step 3:Now chooseLocation sharing.

Step 4:On the next screen, tapShare location.

Step 5:Now, you can choose who can see your location and for how long it is turned on. You can start with 15 minutes and go up to 24 minutes. You even have the option to let you keep the location turned on permanently.

That's all, folks. Once you have turned the settings on, you can share your location with someone. You can even send the link to someone through a message, and they can open it and track your location. I understand some people might be concerned with privacy, but the feature has several use cases, especially for people who want to ensure their loved ones know they are safe.
