As an operating system, Android is chock-full of customisations that you can do. Some are pretty evident right from the get-go, while others are hidden away in the settings. The good thing about Android is that over the past couple of years, Google, as well as the OEMs like Samsung have made significant changes to Android to a point that you do not need to root your device anymore to tinker with the settings.
Android, much like any other operating system has a number of system animations that are put in place. These animations vary from device to device, and obviously, from company to company. But they are all implemented in the same way, which also means that they are controlled through the same methodology, as well.
System animations, although look cool, can cause slowdowns in older devices. Thankfully, Google has baked these system animations into the settings of your device, so you can turn them off. While they will not make your device inherently fast, they will leave with an overall feeling of snappiness.
Make Your Android Device Faster by Turning Off System Animations
Now the good thing is that this is available on almost every single Android device that lets you access developer settings. I have a Galaxy S20 Plus, so, for screenshots, I am using my daily driver. You will have to enable developer options first, and if you don't know how to do that, simply follow this guide and you will be sorted.
Once you are done turning on the Developer options, we can start focusing on how you can turn off system animations. Let's follow the guide and sort you out.
Start by heading over toSettings.Scroll all the way down and tap on Developer options.
Once you are in the Developer options, scroll down until you find the following.
Tap on them one by one and choose Animation off. Once you are done with that you can simply go back and start using your device.
Following the procedure is similar on almost all the Android devices you can use. This feature has been prevalent in Android for a long time. What this does is that it turns off all the animations, which gives your phone a very apparent boost. You can even slow them down or increase their speed if you don't want to get rid of them completely.
Turning off system animations is definitely a good way to go if you are looking to rid your device of unnecessary lag that comes whenever you are switching between or opening apps in general.
