Connect your Nexus 6P to your PC using a USB cable and turn it off.Now, start the device in Fastboot mode: turn onthe phone while pressing and holding theVolume Down+Powerkeysuntil you see the Fastboot menu and the START text on top.Extract the downloaded Nougat file anywhere onyour PC. Go to_N4F26O_folder and copy/paste all the files to your Fastboot directory (which often is the platform-tools folder inside the Android SDK directory).This step involves flashing the factory image to yourNexus phone. Open the folder containing the factory image downloaded and extracted. In the address bar, typecmdand type the command written below and press enter.ectory. Once the script finishes running, your Nexus will reboot. First boot may take up to 5 minutes, so don't be worried if it takes your device longer than usual to boot up. DownloadAndroid SDKand install it. Set it up withplatform-tools and USBdriverspackage inSDK.DownloadSuperSU v2.79for your Nexus device on your PC.Make sure to have acustom recoverytool like CWM, or TWRP:TWRP 3.0.2.0 (or3.0.2-2) for Nexus 6PAlso, downloadFastboot from the following links, depending on your OS andextract it inandroid-sdk-windows\platform-toolsdirectory. Step 1:Connect your Nexus 6P toyour computer via USB.
Step 2:Copy and pasteSuperSuzip file to your device's SD card root folder.
Step 3:Turn your Nexus 6P off.
Step 4:Enter the Bootloader mode: poweryour Nexus on while pressing and holdingVolume Down+Powerkeys.
Step 5:Gotoandroid-sdk-windows\platform-toolsdirectoryand open Command Prompt (Shift+Right-click>Open Command Prompt) and type the following command:
fastbootflash recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-angler.img- replace with twrp-3.0.2-2 if you used the latest recovery version.
Step 6:Once done, enter recovery mode by choosingRecoveryfrom the Fastboot menu.
Step 7:In the recovery mode (CWM or TWRP - menu options will differ a little), scroll toflash zip from SD card>choosezipfromsdcard.
Step 8:Using the volume keys, locateSuperSU-v2.79 zipfileand select it. Confirm the installation process.
Step 9:After installation is completed, go to+++++Go Backand reboot your Nexus device. First boot may take a few minutes.
YourNexus 6P is now updated and rooted on Android 7.1.1 N4F26O. You can verify the root with any Root Checker app.
