Initial Snapdragon 8150 Alleged Benchmarks Show Significant Performance Improvements – Octa-Core Processor Seemingly Confirmed-February 2024
Feb 12, 2026 3:02 PM

Now that Apple’s A12 Bionic and Huawei's Kirin 980 SoC have been released, all eyes are on Qualcomm to see if the company’s latest chip will be able to deliver faster performance than these two and Samsung’s next-generation Exynos 9820 chipset. The first phone that the unannounced Snapdragon 8150 chips will power, the FlexPai, has already been unveiled.

Snapdragon 8150 Apparently Scores 3,100+ Points in the Single-Core Tests - Breaks the 10,000 Points Barrier in Multi-Core Results

The new chip will apparently be made using TSMC's 7nm FinFET process and it might be paired with the X50 5G baseband to facilitate 5G connectivity, which Qualcomm might also sell separately to its partners. The first set of benchmark results have appeared on Geekbench already, but they are based on a reference device, nottheFlexPai.

Apparently, the Qualcomm 8150 chip would have a new architecture, which will be similar to Kirin 980’striple CPU cluster. This will include4 Kryo Silver cores for managing lighter tasks, 2KryoGold coresforsustained speeds, and 2Kryo GoldPluscores for burs speeds. This is a jump from the 4+4 setup, which means we can expect an increase in the performanceside from actual devices featuring the SoC are launched.

Coming to the Geekbench results, the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8150 chip is seemingly amuch-improved successor to the Snapdragon 845.The device achieved a multi-core score of 10,084, which is less than the score of Apple’s A12 Bionic secured. The single-core of 3,181is a healthy improvement, but it cannot hold a candle to the single-core performance of the A12 Bionic.

These are just initial results and it is not known if the processor was harnessing its full potential when being tested. Moreover, one of the best things about the Snapdragon SoC is the Adreno GPU, but we can’t say anything about it until scores from a different benchmark are received. According to some reports, the Snapdragon 8150 might be announced early next month.
