Intel Core i7-14700KF 20 Core CPU Benchmarks Leak: Up To 6 GHz Clocks & 20% Faster Than 13700K-February 2024
Feb 15, 2026 3:22 PM

The latest benchmarks of Intel's Core i7-14700KF Desktop CPU featuring 20 cores and up to 6 GHz clock speeds have been leaked in Geekbench 6.

Intel Core i7-14700KF CPU Benchmarks Show That It Might Just Be The Best 14th-Gen Chip Out of All

Although the Intel 14th Gen Raptor Lake Refresh Desktop CPU family brings little improvements over the 13th Gen lineup, there's one chip that stands out from the rest and that's the Intel Core i7-14700K. This chip not only features higher clock speeds but also comes with a brand new config that enables up to 20 cores and 28 threads, delivering a nice performance boost over the existing Core i7-13700K CPUs.

In terms of specifications, the Intel Core i7-14700K CPU comes with an 8+12 core configuration that offers 20 cores & 28 threads. This will be a nice upgrade over the existing Core i7-13700K processor which offers an 8+8 core config, delivering further boost to multi-threaded performance thanks to those extra E-Cores. The CPU will offer 33 MB of smart cache (vs 30 MB) & feature clock speeds of 3.4 GHz at the base and up to 5.6 GHz with TBMT3. That's also a +200 MHz boost over the 13700K & we can see single-core performance uplifts of around 5-10% from this particular SKU.

Core i7-14700K:20 Cores (8+12) / 28 Threads / 5.6 GHz Boost / 33 MB L3 Cache / 125W / $450?Core i7-13700K:16 Cores (8+8) / 24 Threads / 5.4 GHz Boost / 30 MB L3 Cache / 125W / $409Core i7-12700K:12 Cores (8+4) / 20 Threads / 5.0 GHz Boost / 25 MB L3 Cache / 125W / $450

The leaked benchmarks were conducted on Gigabyte's Z790 AORUS Master X motherboard with 48 GB of DDR5 memory (24 GB x 2) running at unknown speeds. The CPU itself was boosting up to 6.0 GHz which is the same boost clocks as the Core i9-14900K. This points out a manual overclock since the CPU at stock cannot reach such speeds. Motherboard makers are also going to implement new BIOS tuning features that allow over 6 GHz frequencies so that could also possibly have been used here..

The temperatures (cooling equipment) & the power consumption are unknown since Geekbench doesn't report those metrics but it looks like the chip was stable enough to run Geekbench and scored 3097 points in single-core and 21,196 points in the multi-threaded tests.

This marks a 10% improvement in single-core and 20% improvement in multi-core performance over the Core i7-13700K. This is a solid increase for the Intel Core i7-14700KF CPU, especially if we will be able to get that chip at the same price as its predecessor. Though we cannot confirm the final prices yet, there are some reports of a 15% price hike while others suggest that prices will be the same as the existing 13th Gen CPUs.

The performance is also enough to match the Core i9-13900KS so that's going to be a big deal for the sub $500 US pricing of the Core i7-14700KF. Now the real question is whether the chip holds up against the Ryzen X3D parts such as the 7900X3D or even the regular 7900X and 7950X chips which are currently discounted around the same price range. The Intel 14th Gen Raptor Lake Refresh CPU family is expected to launch on the 17th of October so we will know soon enough.
