Intel's 7th generation Kaby Lake desktop processor family has been leaked by Chinese sources, confirming the various SKUs of the lineup. Intel Kaby Lake Desktop CPU Lineup Leaked - 10 SKUs Detailed

Along with the details for the lineup, Coolaler mentions that the desktop chips for the mainstream platform will be slightly delayed to early 2017. Right now, Intel plans to bring out their mobility processors based on the Kaby Lake architecture as soon as possible. Intel revealed at IDF that their mobile chips are already being shipped to OEMs. There main focus of 2016 is to bring as much Kaby Lake chips to mobile form factors (4W - 15W) during Fall 2016 before moving to the desktop side.

Coming to desktop itself, there will be two different variants of the chips themselves. One would be designed for the HEDT market while the others will be designed for the mainstream market. The HEDT lineup is known as Kaby Lake-X and will be featured on the LGA 2066 along with the Skylake-X processors. The mainstream lineup which is internally known as Kaby Lake-S will be featured on the LGA 1151 socket. While this socket is the same as Skylake before it, the change it chipset (200-series) would not allow compatibility with older generation (100-series) motherboards.
