Intel NUC Roadmap Leaked – Reveals that Desktop Broadwell is Probably Coming Early 2015-April 2024

Most of you will probably already know what Intel's NUC is. To those who don't, NUC is Intel's Next Unit of Computing; basically glorified PCs in extremely small casings. The roadmap for the Intel NUC has leaked and reveals many details including the fact that 5th Generation Broadwell (for NUC) will come late 2014.

Intel NUC Broadwell Coming Late 2014 - Desktop Variants will Probably Arrive in 2015

Intel NUC logoThe Intel NUC with Broadwell Architecture will be called Rock Canyon/Maple Canyon and will have USB 3.0, IR sensor, replaceable lids with wireless charging and NFC. Interestingly Intel also claims that both Rock and Maple Canyon NUC will be able to run 4K and support Triple Monitor configurations on the iGPU. I dont really have much details on which iGPU Intel will deploy to use in the Rock Canyon NUC so i cant really comment on this claim. Though we have seen the power of the Iris Pro graphics solution, I don't really see Intel's normal HD iGPUs driving triple monitor and 4k.

Though ofcourse if you stay away from any GPU-heavy application running just the desktop and basic display output should not be a problem.Without further ado the Consumer Roadmap, Haswel Consumer NUC Specs, Commercial Roadmap and Haswell Commercial NUC Specs respectively

From the information we know so far, the GT2 will likely have 24 EUs and the GT3e will have 48 EUs. Also if Intel intros its 128MB L4 EDRAM cache we could see massive improvement on our base benchmarks we have today. Keep in mind that Intel has already promised a 40% increase over Haswell. It is worth mentioning that Intel's NUCs are doing extremely well.
