iOS 10.2.1, macOS 10.12.3 Beta 3 & Beta 2 of tvOS 10.1.1, watchOS 3.1.3 Released-August 2024
Aug 10, 2025 10:32 AM

You can now download iOS 10.2.1 and macOS 10.12.3 beta 3. Apple has also seeded tvOS 10.1.1 and watchOS 3.1.3 beta 2 toregistered developers.

Apple Releases New Betas Instead of Going Ahead with the Final Build

In a rather surprising move, Apple has released iOS 10.2.1 beta 3 to developers along with beta 2 of tvOS 10.1.1 and watchOS 3.1.3 instead of the final build. This move has definitely raised our eyebrowgiven the fact how much time Apple had to work on its software. But surprise, new developer release for those registered with Apple. Yay.

New Betas in January

Download iOS 10.2.1 Beta 3

If you have a previous beta of iOS 10.2.1 installed on your device then downloading beta 3 is a piece of cake. Simply connect to a WiFi network, navigate to Settings > General > Software Update. Tap on the Download and Install button once the update pops up for download.

Don't have iOS 10.2.1 beta installed already? You can pick up the IPSW file directly from the Apple Developer Program website, given you are registered in the first place. Also, you have the option to install the beta over the air, which is the preferred method since you do not end up losing your files.

Download macOS 10.12.3 Beta 3

Installing the latest macOS 10.12.3 beta update is easy. Launch the Mac App Store, click on the Updates tab and wait for the update to show up. Once it does, click on the Update button and you are good to go. You will be required to restart your Mac therefore save all your work beforehand.

You can download a fresh copy of macOS 10.12.3 beta directly from the Apple Developer Program website.

Download watchOS 3.1.3 & tvOS 10.1.1 Beta 2

New betas of watchOS 3.1.3 and tvOS 10.1.1 are also available. You can download the updates over the air if you so wish. First of all, we will kick things off with the Apple Watch.

Launch the Watch app on your iPhone, then go to General > Software Update. Once the update pops up for your device, install it. If you are looking to try out watchOS 3.1.3 beta on your Apple Watch then you can head over to the Apple Developer Program website to pick up the beta bits.

tvOS 10.1.1 can be downloaded directly from Settings > System > Software Updates in tvOS. The installation happens over the air therefore you do not have to connect your Apple TV 4 with your computer to install anything.

Wrap Up

Given we saw new betas of Apple's software today, it's highly likely we won't be seeing the final builds any time soon. If Apple is in the mood to rush things, then next week should be a good time for new final software to arrive.

But do expect a surprise or two like today.
