Apple has announced the release date for it's next operating system, the iOS 8. iOS 8 will be available to the general public starting the 17th of this September. iOS 8 is expected to feature several changes from the existing iOS 7.1.2.

These include better functionality for the device. Particular attention has been paid to special needs features on iOS 8. Improvements also include on Guided Access, a feature which restricts app use on the iOS device. Guided Access will also be supplemented with a time restriction feature which will allow the use of the entire device after a set time limit.

iOS 8 To Be Available Starting September 17th

iOS 8 will be compatible with the same devices iOS 7.1.2 was with. These include the iPhone 4S, the iPhone 5, the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C. The iPad 2, Retina iPad, iPad Air and both the iPad Minis will also be able to support iOS 8.

Apart from Guided Access, iOS 8 is also expected to come with new color themes and a new voice assistant. The voice assistant on iOS 8 is expected to be able to read complete text and more off the screen. The voice is also to be more realistic in nature.

Features for special needs include improved hearing aids and braille keyboards on iOS 8. Health Kit is another feature that will be present and allow integration of the user's health needs into their iOS device. Third party keyboards, which will allow more options to be available and greater customization. So wait for September 17 to update your device to iOS 8.
