The First Beta Of iOS 9.2.1 Has Arrived For Registered Developers

Apple released iOS 9.2 download for compatible iPhone, iPad, iPod touch devices over aweek back, and today, the company is rolling out the next point update for its mobile operating system - iOS 9.2.1. And at this point, it's very early to tell what's new in this update, but given what past releases have brought with them, we're quite certain that iOS 9.2.1 is a big fixing and performance enhancing release, nothing more, nothing less. But of course, we could be wrong, and there are chances that Apple might've slipped in a big surprise or two along with the update that is bound to enhance the overall functionality of Cupertino's mobile device lineup.

The iOS 9.2.1 beta download is available to registered developers only at this point, which means that you must be a paying dev with Apple in order to grab the necessary pre-release resources. The membership will set you back $99 annually, and is worth the investment if you're a diehard Apple fanboy. Besides, the membership will give you straight up access to pre-release software before anyone else, which includes iOS, OS X, watchOS, tvOS.

We have a hunch that iOS 9.2.1 will be available as a public beta download for non-registered users in the near future, and when it does arrive, we will inform our readers about it. Furthermore, if you're planning to install iOS 9.2.1 beta on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch right away, then we highly recommend that you do so on a device that is meant for testing purposes only. After all, we're sitting at the first beta build of iOS 9.2.1 which is bound to be followed by many more, so expect bugs around different corners during day to day usage.

If Apple has managed to slip in a few surprises in this release, then we will definitely cover them in detail. Till then, we highly recommend developers to make the leap and install the update onto their devices, ensuring that their software remains compatible with Cupertino's future firmware update.
