Rumors are terming the next iPad as "iPad Pro" combining the capabilities of MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro. According to the rumors, Apple is testing a range of iPad models featuring 12.9 inch displays. Cupertino based company is speculated to release these "iPad Pro" models in Q2 2014 sporting a 2k display. Another "iPad Pro" model will be launched in 2014 October powered by a 4k display.

Earlier, a Chinese web site hinted that Foxconn has been working research for better display for iPad. The Wall Street Journal has also hinted an iPad with larger display. While the speculations have gotten really interesting, iPad 4k display resolution is a big news if true.

IBTimes quoted The Korea Times: "The 12.9-inch iPad will have improved picture quality."..."As the Apple partner intends to boost its lineup for displays that have almost ultra high-definition (UHD) quality, the upcoming iPad will provide very clear quality similar to that of UHD."

While Samsung is trying to take the tablet market from Apple as it did with its Galaxy smartphones, it is logical for Apple to bring the next big thing before Samsung proves to be successful. That said, it would be a feat for Apple to achieve ultra high-def resolution and bigger screens without affecting the weight and battery much.
