At the event Apple did not give any specific date regarding shipments of these new products, like it did with the iPhone 5. Pre-orders were opened that very same day, however.

Today Apple has finally started iPod touch 5G and new iPod Nano shipments. If you placed an order online, it will now be available for pick up in store as well as with the option of being delivered at your residence. It was high time for Apple to announce new iPods as last year they had not done so. The changes made to new iPod models are substantial and nothing short of amazing. The iPod touch 5G looks rather evolutionary instead of revolutionary in terms of design. New iPod Nano on the other hand has a new design which has been subject to criticism in various online circles. It has a small display and a Home button identical to that of other iOS devices. The new Nano has a launched similar to spring board, essentially making it look like a mini iPod touch. It is pretty powerful nonetheless, with support for FM Radio, Bluetooth 4.0 as well as video playback.

Apple also announced the new version of earphones, which have largely remained unchained ever since the first iPhone came out in 2007.
