OnePlus 6 has a great fan base throughout the globe, probably because it is OnePlus’ last phone with a headphone jack. The OxygenOS is great but some of you who look for more customization would be on the lookout for other OS. There is nothing better and stable than the LineageOS 16 and after Essential Phone, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 and Xiaomi Mi 6, OnePlus 6 has been added to the list as well.

LineageOS 16 Opens New Opportunities For OnePlus 6 Users

It is the biggest custom ROM and has more than 1.6 million installations across the globe. The phone was never really supported by this OS before this moment but it makes sense as the OxygenOS is updated on a regular basis and is very close to Android. If you are OnePlus 6 owner, then this is great news for you.

Nightly builds for LineageOS are now available and you can get them now. The Essential Phone was given this status just a few days ago, so this shouldn’t be a surprise that OnePlus 6 made the list. Both the phones offer users pretty similar software experiences. We can expect that in the coming months, more OnePlus devices will follow suit and added to the list, particularly OnePlus 6T, 7 and 7 Pro. The delay could be due to the way OnePlus utilizes A/B partitions for OTA updates. Prior to this, there were various unofficial nightly builds available, but we can expect that since the ROM is now hosted on the project’s servers; the experience will be relatively bug free.

This is a great news for both LineageOS and OnePlus 6 fans. However, this opportunity is not for OnePlus 6T devices. Maybe in the future something more but as of now, you will have to wait. You can download the latest nightly build from here.
