Feb 20, 2026 3:25 PM

Microsoft released Windows 10Insider Preview Build 17692 to Fast Ring and Skip Ahead Insiders over 15 days ago. Bringing a number of major features and improvements, those on the Slow Ring have been impatiently waiting for the Build to arrive for them. But it wasn't just a wait for that particular build since Slow Ring Insiders haven't received any love from Windows 10 Redstone 5.

While Fast Ring and Skip Ahead have been testing RS5 for over several months now, the SlowRing has been on an unending waitlist. Ending that long wait, Microsoft has just announced releasingWindows 10 Insider Preview Build 17692.1004 from its Redstone 5 branch to Windows Insiders in the Slow ring.

Slow Ring finally gets to test Windows 10 Redstone 5

Apart from the long list ofWindows 10Insider Preview Build 17692 features that included SwiftKey integration, GameBar and Microsoft Edge improvements among others, the following fixes have also been included for this build:

We fixed the issue where the login screen would crash in a loop when the active sign-in method is set to Picture Password. We fixed the issue whereDRM video playback in Microsoft Edge from websites such as Netflix was broken. We fixed the issue where Keyboard Settings found under Ease of Access were missing text as well as visible values in the two combo boxes. We have improved reliability and performance for launching Start.

Microsoft has sincereleased a fresh new Preview Build to its Insiders on the Fast Ring and Skip Ahead, removing Sets from the list of features that will be rolled out with Windows 10 Redstone 5 later this year. If you are signed up with the Slow Ring, you can now testWindows 10 Insider Preview Build 17692.1004 from the Redstone 5 branch. Don't forget to let us know if you can still see Sets in that build.
