Microsoft Releases Windows 10 Cumulative Update (KB4478877) for Version 1607-March 2024

Microsoft has released a cumulative update for Windows 10 Anniversary Update to deliver a fixto theusers on theLTSC (Long-Term Servicing Channel) a weekahead of thescheduled Patch Tuesday updates. Since version 1607reached the end of service on April 10, 2018, those on Home or Pro editions won't receive this update. The latest Windows 10 cumulative update is only available to those on Enterprise and Education editions.

The latest Windows 10 cumulative update (KB4478877) brings the following fix:

Addresses an issue that prevents therelease of the on-demand Source Network Address Translation (SNAT) port allocated to a virtual machine (VM) after the SNAT port is no longer in use. As a result, the SNAT port becomes exhausted.

The update can be manually downloaded from Microsoft Update Catalog or through Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update>Check for updates.

After installing this update, users may not be able to use the Seek Bar in Windows Media Player when playing specific files. This issue does not affect normal playback. Microsoft is working on a resolution and estimates a solution will be available mid-December 2018.
When features related to end-user-defined characters (EUDC) are used, the entire system may become unresponsive. Double-click any font file or navigate to the font folders immediately after logging on.

Microsoft is working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.
