Microsoftrolled out a major update to Windows 10 Insiders on the Fast ring earlier this month. Windows 10 Insider PC build 14986 brought in a number of features and bug fixes. Dona Sarkar of the Windows Insider Program later confirmed that we won't be seeing any new builds this year.
The company has, however, released a "small update" to Windows 10 PC build 14986, possibly to fix some minor issues. This is in no way a new build, but a minor update to the PC build via cumulative update process.
Windows 10 Insider 14986 receives a cumulative update
This new cumulative update for Windows 10Insiders on PC build 14986 that started rolling out to some users late last night brings the build number up to 14986.1001, from 14986.1000. While Sarkar has confirmed this release on Twitter, she didn't share what is part of this update. No changelog was published for this cumulative update either.
Hey #WindowsInsiders, you might have noticed a small update to PC build 14986 rolling out yesterday: standard updates before holidays.

The Windows Insider cumulative update build number 14986.1001 carries knowledge base number KB3206309. But, you won't find anything for KB3206309 on Microsoft (if you do, share!). Some users also took to Microsoft Answers forum to talk about the possible fixes that this update might have brought in. Something with Windows Defender? Microsoft Edge problems? Could be anything.
With cumulative updates, the company often takes itstime sharing changelog. But, today's build is prompting more interest because Microsoft had said the team was going on holidays. However, it apparently did manage to release a small update before saying goodbye for the year. If you have updated your Windows 10 Insider 14986 powered PC to the latest cumulative update, don't forget to share if you spotted any fixes or improvements.
We will update this space with changelog / details, if we find any.
