Microsoft's Build Developer Conference is live and the company is presenting some interesting Windows 10 facts and achievements. Microsoft has just announced that a Windows 10 Anniversary Update will be coming for free later this summer. Here is what will this anniversary update bring to the fastest growing Windows ever.

Microsoft is presenting new tools and technologies at its Build conference today at San Francisco. Geared towards developers, the company is helping the dev communityto be more creative and productive with Microsoft's tools. As Windows 10 was the highlight of the previous year for the company, Microsoft has focused a lot of what else we would seecoming to the new operating system.

Microsoft announced at the event that a Windows 10 Anniversary Update will be coming for free this summer, bringing more features and enhancements to the OS. The Anniversary Update has been shaped by the feedback received through Microsoft's Windows Insider Program. This new update will bring several features and new capabilities for developers who will be able to build their apps for the Universal Windows Platform. Microsoft's Edge browser will also receive support for easy and secure biometrics and Hello support for logins.

Remember, this is the same Redstone update scheduled for summer that Insiders have been testing out over the past few months. Being calledthe Windows Anniversary Update, the free update will alsocometo Xbox One,bringing universal Windows 10 apps and Cortana to console. Detailing this upcoming update for Windows 10, Windows chief Terry Myerson took acounterjab at Apple, saying that their companywelcomes everyone to Windows 10, "whether they have a new PC, a 5-year-old PC, or a brand new Mac."

Build 2016 kicked off this morning and Microsoft's CEO Satya Nadellashared some interesting facts and figures. He mentioned that there are over 1.2 billion Office users, who will be able to access the platform from cloud. Nadella also said that Windows 10 is the fastest growing Windows ever with over 270 million users actively running the new operating system.
