　　In case you were wondering whether or not this was iPhone inspired, the golden-hued case is made from a metallic material, which is great if you want all your devices to match. I mean, come on, you wouldn’t want your peasant non-gold calculator to destroy all the street cred you got from your golden iPhone.

　　“We are always looking to do our part to help get students excited about learning critical science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) subjects, and we hope these new colors will generate extra enthusiasm as students head back to school,” said Peter Balyta, president of TI Education Technology, in a statement.

　　If you’re worried about being too flashy, there’s also a limited edition “Bright White” model, which, as far as calculators go, also looks pretty good. Both of the calculators will be available on Amazon this summer, just in time for the back-to-school season. Don’t worry, the gold is just a color — the calculators will not cost an extra premium. That means they should cost the same $108 as the TI-84 Plus calculators currently available on Amazon, and you shouldn’t have to pay extra to prove how serious you are about graphing your functions.

　　Of course, if you’re lame and don’t care for either the gold or the white, the TI-84 Plus CE is available in seven other colors with really cool mathematical color names — like Radical Red, Positively Pink, or my personal favorite Plum Pi. Who ever said you can’t have fun while doing math? Lots of people, probably, but ignore them.
