The unveiling of the new iPad has certainly gotten the tech world buzzing. With comparisons being made against the top tier Android tablets, no one yet knows how much RAM the new iPad has and whether the CPU has gotten any speed bumps or not. Luckily someone in Vietnam has gotten his hands rather early on the new iPad and was kind enough to run Geekbench.
If the screenshot above is to be believed, the new iPad has 1GB of RAM which is an upgrade from the 512MB in iPad 2. The CPU however remains exactly the same; dual core at 1GHz. Interestingly enough Geekbench recognizes the new iPad as iPad 3. Hit the source link for a detailed breakdown of the benchmark results.
