Noticed Something Weird On Your Galaxy S23 Ultra Screen? Samsung Says Its Normal
Noticed Something Weird On Your Galaxy S23 Ultra Screen? Samsung Says Its Normal-February 2024
Feb 12, 2026 3:08 AM

Samsung is usually excellent when it comes to its quality control, and we rarely see Samsung phones failing after launch or displaying weird behaviors. The company has come a long, long way since the Galaxy Note 7 era, and for all the right reasons. However, a recent debacle ended up confusing several Galaxy S23 Ultra owners into thinking that Samsung may have slipped once again.

The distortion on the Galaxy S23 Ultra screen is not a defect, Samsung confirms that it will not affect the lifespan or user experience of the device

Users on various platforms such as Reddit, Twitter, and Samsung Community have started talking about a bubble-like artifact that you can see at either the bottom right or left of the Galaxy S23 Ultra's screen. Users started to question whether it was a defective unit they were dealing with or if there was something else. You can have a look at the weird effect below:

Respectfully, but what more is there for people to send you so you can acknowledge/understand?

Although it might look concerning, Samsung has come to the rescue and talked about how there is nothing wrong with the phone. The reason why some parts appear squashed or pressed is the pressing process for waterproofing and dustproofing. The company further ensures that everything with the phone is exactly how it should be.

Thankfully, Samsung was quick to mention that all the Galaxy S23 Ultra units displaying this artifact are completely fine. Otherwise, this could have resulted in more negative output as far as the overall experience is concerned.

However, I have to point out that this is the first time I have seen a similar thing on a Samsung phone. My Galaxy S22 Ultra and the Galaxy S21 Ultra before that did not have a similar issue. As a matter of fact, the phones looked completely clean. This suggests that Samsung may have made some changes to the process by which the company fits the screen along with the rest of the components. Still, the company claims that this will not affect the performance or lifespan of the device, so we are all good to go.

Over the past couple of years, Samsung has become a lot more vigilante than it once was. If you have a Galaxy S23 Ultra and you are experiencing this line as well, rest assured the phone is not going to give up on you, and the issue will not expand from where it originates. The panic does make sense, however. Spending over $1,000 on the phone is not something everyone is willing to do or is comfortable with. So, at that price, one would want the perfect smartphone experience inside and outside.
