Reports from NVIDIA suggest that current Fermi based GTX 560 and GTX 550 GPU's would reach End-of-Life after launch of the company's latest Kepler based GTX 660/GTX 650 cards by Q3 2012.

Currently, NVIDIA has a total of four mid-range replacements planned for Q3 2012 which would replace their Fermi basedpredecessorsafter launch. These include the GTX 660Ti, GTX 660, GTS 650Ti and the GTS 650. Following is a list we prepared to show you each GPU's respective replacement:

GTX 560Ti (GF114) ----> GTX 660Ti (GK104)

GTX 560 (GF114) ----> GTX 660 (GK104/GK106)

GTX 550Ti (GF-116) ----> GTS 650Ti (GK106)

GTS 450 (GF-106) ----> GTS 650 (GK107)

With the launch of new mid-range cards, we can see overall price drops in the older solutions. Similar trend is being seen with GTX 580/GTX 570 since various manufacturer's are offeringpromotionsto clear away their stock to pave way for the upcomingKeplerGPUs.

Even though the news may seem bad for users of these cards but 560Ti has no doubt been the cash cow of NVIDIA this generation with almost 5% Steam users running the same GPU in their rigs as indicated by Steam's Hardware Survey.

The Kepler based 28nm mid-range GPU's launch in August 2012, Current known specifications of GTX 660Ti and GTX 660 can beacquiredhere.
