NVIDIA is preparing its next-gen GPU lineup codenamed Blackwell which is expected to power the GeForce RTX 50 gaming lineup.

NVIDIA Blackwell GPU Architecture To Feature At Least Six GPU SKUs For Next-Gen GeForce RTX 50 Graphics Cards

According to existing information, we know that NVIDIA's Blackwell GPUs were initially planned in two variants, the "GB10X" series which was likely targeted at the HPC & AI segment. These had the GB100 and GB102 SKUs based on the same architecture as GB100 and were listed as the "Classic GPUs" in the previous leak.

Now as per the latest rumors, it looks like NVIDIA will also be working on gaming SKUs under the same Blackwell GPU architecture. Though there would still be some differences in the HPC & the gaming side of things, at least we won't get a segmentation like Hopper and Ada. The new leak is based on a Chiphell Forum post by "Panzerlied" which was discovered by Videocardz. The leak & the listed information was further detailed by Kopite7kimi who seems to acknowledge that this is the real deal.

The leak suggests that NVIDIA will have at least six SKUs for its GeForce RTX 50 gaming lineup with the Blackwell GPU architecture. This is the same amount of SKUs we got with the Ada Lovelace GPU lineup but there's one big difference. The lineup would include GB202 as the flagship and followed by GB203, GB205, GB206, and GB207. While the lineup may look the same at first, the most major difference is the existence of the GB205 SKU and the non-existence of the GB204 SKU. This means that NVIDIA will further segment its lineup down as AD104 will likely be replaced by the GB205 SKU. The lineup will look something like this:

It is also likely that the GB203 SKU serves as the more convenient option if a high-end SKU is to be designed. The *03-class SKUs weren't available on the gaming front until Ada and it also did kind of replace the 104-class SKUs since the RTX 4080 is using that instead of AD104. Earlier, Kopite7kimi had revealed that NVIDIA's flagship gaming GPU that replaces AD102 will feature a 512-bit bus and that should mark a major upgrade over the RTX 4090. But whether we get to see that graphics card is an entirely different thing.

You see, NVIDIA won't be launching its GeForce RTX 50 lineup anytime prior to 2025 as per the latest roadmap. That means that the company still has a lot of time to reformat and change its gaming lineup. The company is currently focused on its GeForce RTX 40 series and there might even be some sort of refresh down the road but it looks like Blackwell GPUs are being finalized so expected more leaks from now on.
