NVIDIA Readies GeForce GTX Titan LE With Cut Down GK110 Core-February 2024

GeForce GTX Titan LE

A few weeks ago, it wasreported that NVIDIA could possibly be working on a second variant of their GeForce GTX Titan GPU or a cut down version to be precise. Sweclockers managed to find out the codename of this new GPU through HWInfo's newly added database entries which is to be called GeForce GTX Titan LE.

NVIDIA Readies Cheaper GeForce GTX Titan LE GPU

As speculated earlier, the GeForce GTX Titan LE would be a cheaper variant to the original GeForce GTX Titan. However, it would feature cut down specifications such as13 SMX units enabled on the GK110 GPU which would give 2496 cores which is still much higher than theGeForce GTX680′s 1536 cores but lower than the GeForce GTX Titan's 2688 Cores. The GeForce GTX Titan LE would feature a 5 GB GDDR5 memory running across a 320-bit interface compared to 6 GB GDDR5 (384-bit) on the fasterGeForce GTXTitan.

NVIDIA is expected to launch the GeForce GTX Titan LE with its cut down version of the GK110 GPU in Q3 2013 possibly in July or August. The price factor would be a major decision with this part since while the original GeForce GTX Titan was without a doubt a great card, its cost angered many consumers yet was still able to sell like hot cakes. If NVIDIA can manage a price point of around $649-$749 than the LE model coulddefinitelybecome a bigger hit than its bigger brother. Moreover, with a little overclock can end up users with performance on par with the GTX Titan as GTX 670 users got almost the same level of performance as the GTX 680 with small overclocks.

In the meantime, AIB partners of NVIDIA are preparing several custom cooled versions of the GeForce GTX Titan, although no one has released a custom PCB version yet but wouldn't it be great if ASUS out of nowhere comes up with an MARS III GPU at this years Computex based on dual Titan GK110 cores?
