If you are looking for a truly ridiculous and powerful Android smartphone in the market, then the REDMAGIC 8S Pro has you covered. The phone is finally official and out on the market, and it is made for those who are not looking for any compromises. You would think the phone costs a lot of money, but that is not true. We'll get into all the details, but let's get the specs out of the way first.
REDMAGIC 8S Pro has more RAM than most modern gaming PCs, but is it even needed?
The REDMAGIC 8S Pro comes with the overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The same chipset that is found in the Galaxy S23 series. You are getting 3.36GHz CPU clock speed and 719MHz GPU speed instead of the 3.2GHz and 680MHz offered by the base variant. There's more, however. To ensure that this overclocked CPU remains cool, the phone has something called ICE 12.0 cooling system; the cooling chamber is comprised of a 3D vapor chamber cooling along with a graphene heat sink, and you also have a built-in fan to ensure active cooling is delivered.
Aside from an already powerful chipset and a beefed-up cooling system, the REDMAGIC 8S Pro also tops up at 24 gigs of RAM and 1TB of storage. I mean, I do understand the storage because I love hoarding music on my phone, but the RAM is not something that a modern-day Android phone is going to need, or any AAA Android game is going to need, for that matter.

The REDMAGIC 8S Pro also has a massive 6,000 mAh battery with 80W wired charging. A Pro Plus variant also has a 5,000 mAh battery with a whopping 165W wired charging speed. You are getting a pretty standard set of affairs in terms of aesthetics, wherein this is a gaming phone through and through. You have RGB lighting, capacitive shoulder triggers, a 16-megapixel under-display camera for selfies, a triple camera system on the back with a 50-megapixel GN5 camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro/depth camera.
If you are looking to get your hands on the REGMAGIC 8S Pro, you are going to have to spend 3,999 yuan (~$552) for the base variant that gets you 8 gigs of RAM and 128 gigs of storage. If you are feeling fancy, however, and you want the best of the best, then you are going to have to spend 7,499 yuan (~$1,036), which will get you 24 gigs of RAM and 1TB storage.

There is also a REDMAGIC 8S Pro Plus Transformers Bumblebee edition that can be yours for 6,499 yuan (~$897) and will pack 16 gigs of RAM and 512 gigs of storage. These phones are currently available in China for purchase but could come to other markets later this year.
