If you’re looking for a new Chromebook that’s sleek, slim, and visually similar to a MacBook, Samsung now has you covered. The company is announcing today, October 7, two new additions to its Chromebook family — the 11.6-inch Chromebook 4, and the 15.6-inch Chromebook 4+. Both are followups to the popular Chromebook 3.

Now available at Best Buy, Samsung.com, and other retailers for $300, we begin first with the larger model, the Chromebook 4+. Sporting a spacious 15.6-inch, 1,920 x 1,080 resolution anti-reflective display, this Chromebook is visually impressive. Unlike similarly sized devices, Samsung has paid special attention to the design on the Chromebook 4. It weighs 3.75 pounds and the “Platinum Titan” finish doesn’t feature any visible screws. Instead, it exhibits what Samsung calls a “seamless aesthetic” all around, similar to the unibody design on the MacBook Pro lineup.

Under the hood, the Chromebook 4+ sports the Intel Celeron N4000 Processor, and options for 4GB of 6 GB LPDDR4 RAM. Storage comes in options for either 32GB or 64GB. With its support for Gigabit Wi-Fi, the device is also well connected. It also has 2 USB-C ports, 1 USB-A port, and MicroSD card, and a headphone jack for connections to monitors, accessories, and more. Elsewhere, Samsung promises the in-built 39-watt-hour battery will last 10.5 hours on a single charge.

Next up is the smaller — and slightly more portable — sibling, the 11.6-inch Chromebook 4. Also available today at Best Buy, Samsung.com and select retailers, it is slightly cheaper at $230. The display onboard comes in at 1,366 x 768 resolution which is still good enough for web browsing and multimedia use. Elsewhere, the options for the RAM and storage are the same as the bigger Chromebook 4+. Connectivity is also similar, though the Chromebook 4 only sports 1 USB-C port in addition to USB-A. As this is a smaller device, the weight is lighter at 2.6 pounds. The battery should also last longer, at 12.5 hours.

Both models of the Samsung Chromebook 4 feature the Google Assistant built-in, for updating calendars, replying to messages, making notes, and checking the news. “The Samsung Chromebook 4 line is a testament to what can be achieved when you’re focused on pushing the boundaries of convenience and value for computers,” said Alanna Cotton, senior vice president and general manager at Samsung Electronics America.
