Xperia Z5 line-up fixes Snapdragon 810 overheating issues:

Many were surprised at Sony going with Snapdragon 810 for its new smartphones as the SoC didn't manage to get any positive coverage or reviews in the last several months that it has been in the market being part of different Android smartphones. However, Sony has apparently managed to fix the Snapdragon 810 overheating problems as shows a new 4K video recording heat test. Some thermal management techniques including thermal layers might have helped the company handle the heat issues here. Regardless of what techniques has ithas used, it seems to be working, at least in this test video.

Following is the video showing the 4K video recording test on an Xperia Z5. The device reaches the predetermined video duration without any warnings that might occur when trying to record in ultra high-def settings.

However, we will wait for more user reviews running multiple apps at a time in the background in different temperature settings to be certain of this fix. A Dutch site has already reportedin its Xperia Z5 review that the camera app closed in 30 seconds because of the temperature rising. Perhaps, it's not fixed after all?
