Stray earlier launched for the PC and PlayStation consoles in 2022 before jumping on the Xbox platform this August, and now, Annapurna Interactive has announced that the award-winning cat adventure game is available for the Mac. Developed by BlueTwelve Studio, players take advantage of a stray feline as it is traversing with some companions, only to take an incorrect footing and tumble down into an unfamiliar world that is full of surprises and peril.

The latest announcement mentions that Stray will not only support Apple’s MetalFX upscaling technology, but the game can be played on every Mac that features an Apple Silicon, starting with the M1 models. One benefit of owning Stray is that it is not resource-intensive and does not require the most powerful hardware to run fluidly, with the addition of MetalFX making the experience even better.

One perk of running Stray on your Mac is that even if you pick up the base M1 or M2 MacBook Air sporting 256GB of internal storage, the game can easily be installed on your machine, given that the title only requires 8.2GB of available space. On PC, when you are running Steam, Stray requires a minimum of 10GB of available storage, so there is some advantage to owning a Mac.
