The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Will Feature A Slightly Larger Display Than Its Predecessor But Still Smaller Than Apple Watch Ultra
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Will Feature A Slightly Larger Display Than Its Predecessor But Still Smaller Than Apple Watch Ultra-February 2024
Feb 12, 2026 3:00 AM

This year is big for Samsung as the company has already released its flagship devices earlier this year. By the second half of this year, we will be seeing the Galaxy Z Fold 5, the Galaxy Z Flip 5, the Galaxy Tab S9 series, and the Galaxy Watch 6 series, as well. Now, Samsung is definitely deserving of all the commendation thanks to the fact that the company put Wear OS back on the map when it started working with Google, and thanks to Samsung, Android-powered smartwatches are finally relevant again. So, it is fair that a lot of people are looking forward to what Samsung has to offer.

Galaxy Watch 6 Classic to feature a 1.47-inch screen, comparatively smaller than Apple Watch Ultra, but hopefully with better proportions overall

The Galaxy Watch 5 series was an instant hit, and this is coming from someone who does not prefer smartwatches. However, Samsung did deliver a winning product, and honestly, I would call it the best smartwatch that can rival Apple's offerings. Today, we have a word on the Galaxy Watch 6 and the screen size it will be bringing.

According to Ice Universe, the Galaxy Watch 6 will have a larger display at 1.47 inches. The source also claims that the smartwatch will also offer improved resolution when compared to the Galaxy Watch 5 and better overall proportions. Mind you, we are talking about the Classic variant and not the Pro variant, which will offer a larger screen, of course.

100% confirmed, Exclusive: The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 has increased the screen size of the dial to 1.47 inches, and the resolution has also been correspondingly improved, which means that the screen proportion has finally been improved.

At 1.47 inches, one might assume that the watch's face is big enough compared to the Apple Watch Ultra, but it is still small as the latter packs an impressive 1.92-inch screen, sitting atop a 49mm titanium case. The Galaxy Watch 6 looks pretty small compared to the Apple Watch Ultra. However, we are hoping that the larger model fills the gap. Also, another thing to note here is that 49mm is a case size that not a lot of people are comfortable with. Heck, even 44mm is massive by today's watch standards.

Sadly, not much is known about the Galaxy Watch 6, aside from the fact that it will have a smaller display than the Apple Watch Ultra but should offer better overall proportions as compared to its older sibling. You can also expect scratch-resistant sapphire, just like the previous generation model featured. I am really hoping that the Pro variant is something even more powerful and something that can challenge Apple's best.
