It has been some time since the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 went official, and we have already seen it showing up in the Xiaomi 14 series. However, for those who don't know, there will be an overclocked version that will debut in the Galaxy S24 series, just like this year's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, and this overclocked chipset will deliver better performance.

We have just received word about the GPU clock on the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, and as expected, everyone who is waiting for the Galaxy S24 series is in for a surprise because aside from faster CPU clock speeds, you are also going to get faster GPU clock speeds, allowing faster gaming performance.

Based on the tip, the GPU found in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy is going to be clocked at 1GHz or 1,000MHz. This might not look like a massive bump. Still, for the sake of comparison, the base variant of the chip comes with the GPU running at 903MHz, so having an overclocked GPU is always welcomed. Hopefully, we will get better performance in games and other applications that can benefit from a faster GPU.

Of course, there is still a question of sustained performance. Overclocking a GPU or a CPU means more heat coming out of the components, and here we will have to wait and see the thermal solution used by Samsung for the upcoming Galaxy S24. If the phones manage to deliver great sustained performance with higher clock speeds, then it is a home run for Samsung, and we cannot wait to see what more this new chipset is going to be capable of.

The Galaxy S24 is scheduled for January 2024 release, and based on all the information we have received so far, we are looking at a definitive powerhouse of a smartphone. Let's just hope Samsung is able to deliver once again, and it is a worthy upgrade for anyone who is still using the Galaxy S22 or older devices.
